I like color in my lip balm. I like a little sparkle in my lip balm.
How do make lip balms with these two things in them? And can I do it using all natural ingredients?
Yes! I'm sure you have heard of mica powder... If not, this is what it is:
Mica is a silicate mineral used in cosmetics for its brilliant or shimmering appearance, according to WikipediaRead Full Post »

hate don't enjoy gloomy, rainy days! And I don't think there is even such a thing as a "perfect" rainy day.... Unless of course you like rainy days. I am not one of those people.
This weekend was gloomy and rainy. Everything was soggy and dripping. Grey and blah! Hopefully, you get the idea..(running out of adjectives over here).Read Full Post »

Everyday we get up and as part of our "get-ready" routine we wash our face (along with other things.)
I have what is considered normal skin, as opposed to greasy, oily, or dry.
Even with my "normal' skin I tend to get a few breakouts on the most common places. Around the nose, chin and along the hairline. Not too noticable, but just enough.
It leaves my skin looking kinda like it isn't clean. I have found a way to prevent that... toner!...Read Full Post »

- 2 TBS. Avocado Oil
- 2 TBS. Sweet Almond Oil
- 2 TBS. Shea Butter
- 2 TBS. Cocoa Butter
- 1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
- 1 TBS. Zinc Oxide ( I used zinc oxide ointment.)

A couple posts ago, in the Hello Sunshine! post I talked about the dangers of sunblock. As I mentioned, I knew there were a few alternatives to commercial sunscreens.
Basically, if you're using commercial sunscreens you are more than likely causing more harm than good. This is caused...Read Full Post »

It has been awhile since I have posted anything.
It has been a busy past couple weeks!
A couple people I know, had a wedding celebration and I was able to help out!
I made 24 lip balm favors for the ladies that would be attending.
The flowers were to be red roses and I wanted to incorporate with the lip balm. I had a few weeks to get them done. I infused the coconut oil and sweet almond oil with rose petals for one week. I ordered th...Read Full Post »

Spring is coming! I think... It is technically it is here, but it hasn't warmed up just yet.
The sun is shining, the grass is turning green and flowers are blooming!
It just isn't warm enough. Good "sweater weather" I reckon. But, this post isn't to complain about the weather, it is all about sunshine!

This is a topic that has been on my mind a lot recently. Not because I have been blessed with long hair, but beacause I am looking for ways to do my hair, without having to add so many products.
You see, I used to have pin-straight hair. But then, I changed to a cross somewhere in between curly and wavy. Almost like ...Read Full Post »

Hey everyone! It has been a little while since I last posted.
Sorry about that, I have been so busy doing a lot of stuff...
Anyway, this post is all about honey. I have been doing a lot of research on honey. I knew that honey (all-natural raw honey, that is ) is really good for you, but I didn't know just how good it really is!
The reason to use raw honey is because it hasn't been pasteurized, heated or processed in any way and contains many valuable benefits.
